Company Overview - SPYR, Inc.

Investment Highlights - SPYR, Inc.

We are always on the look-out for interesting companies that may be on the precipice of primary expansion moves. The digital app space is rife with opportunity because there are so many evolving pathways for monetization to flow that we often find amazing expansion potential. This is especially true of one company right now: SPYR, Inc. (OTCMKTS:SPYR).

  • SPYR is the company behind Pocket Starships, which was the first real-time true cross-platform massively multiplayer online game (MMO) on planet Earth. What interests us most about this story right now is the massive and almost instantaneous potential for expansion of the audience for Pocket Starships via the growing market of a true real-time, cross platform gaming experience.
  • In 2017, we expect SPYR to take Pocket Starships onto the Microsoft Windows platform, thus opening the game up to 350 million new potential users.
  • We also expect the company to more extensively exploit the web portal pathway. In this case, it doesn’t take any cash to achieve this goal. Most web portals work on “back end points,” meaning that they take a piece of the action to host the gameplay and distribute to users instead of an upfront fee.
  • Speaking of cash, SPYR currently has $3.9 million against no current liabilities according to recent SEC filings
  • But that isn’t all. SPYR and the Pocket Starships developers are diligently working on a series of updates to the game that will prepare it for entry into eSports. The first update, which will allow for direct player vs. player combat is anticipated to be completed within the next 30 days. Two more patches are expected to be released in the first quarter of 2017 adding squad-based player vs. player combat and, finally, a full-blown tournament system.
